10 years ago Brent and I decided to get married on Halloween, and it's been a blast ever since. To help share in the festivities, I've decided to repeat last's years fun with another round of yummy stamping BLOG CANDY for my readers!
All you need to do to enter is leave me a comment sharing what your FAVOURITE costume has been (maybe yours, a child or a friends) and you'll be entered in a draw for one of Stampin' Up!'s Level 1 hostess Patterns Pack Designer Series paper, with 60 gorgeous sheets of 6x6" papers! No, the cookies are NOT included in the prize -- you wish :P
Entries must be received by Monday November 3rd, with the winner's name posted on the 4th.
In the meantime, here are the anniversary cards we exchanged this morning. I was kicked out of my stamping room yesterday afternoon when he locked himself up in there with Morgan and Serena to work on my secret card. Turns out that the traditional gift for a 10th anniversay is pewter, so he went to town with pewter brads, etc, and affixed a pewter-style bracelet inside!
I found it funny this morning to see how much our colour schemes matched -- I guess the Halloween theme does that for you.
PS. You absolutely MUST head over to Kristina Werner's blog to see how Stampin' Up! staff celebrate Halloween... the video at the end will have you PIYP!!

One nice consolation this morning was discovering that I've just had my 3rd card posted to Stampers Showcase. Yippee! I'm sure some of you who stamped with my this summer will recognize this card made with Pick-A-Petal and the new In Colors.
Let me share with you another contest entry, this time from Winnie, a new demonstrator on our team. Cute little sock monkey with his matching pumpkin, eh? I love the fall colour scheme - great job, Winnie!
If you are in or around the Greater Toronto area, I have updated my Stampin' Up! "Classes and Events" schedule for you from now through January (I'm such a Virgo, trying to get organized here). You'll see that most classes are available both in the afternoons and evenings, to help accommodate my stampers with differing schedules.

Card # 1 was inspired by a cupcake birthday card I saw by Amy Smith. I kept the general sketch idea and adapted it to a gingerbread man card instead, using the yummy felt ribbon from Stampin' Up!'s Holiday mini catalogue!
Card #2 was based off a sketch idea from Angie Bennett -- I just changed the colour scheme to use the new In Colors and a reindeer from the "Merry & Bright" set. I also snagged a vanilla brad from the new Hodgepodge Hardware kit to add as an embellishment near the bottom.
For the life of me, I can't recall where I got the inspiration for the 3rd "A Christmas Cardinal" card, but I remembered the general colour scheme and layout from somewhere -- probably from one of many blogs I visit. If it's one of yours, please let me know :)
Later today I'll post some of the contest entries I've been receiving from my newsletter subscribers for the "Fall-themed cards" contest. You still have time to participate... entries must be received by October 31!
Happy stamping everyone,

With all of the recent Toronto Creativ Festival preparations & happenings, I've not had much chance to showcase many cards for you here on the blog. So let's change that up right now!
Here are 5 of the 10 cards that we will be making as part of the Holiday 10 card classes being held this Thursday and Saturday. All products are from Stampin' Up! -- please contact me if you need any information about the supplies/colours used today.

Extra special thanks go out to the gals who helped in the booth: Chanda, Michelle and Helayne, and my behind-the-scenes helpers: Cheryl, Christyne, Rebecca & Judy. Thanks also go to my kids who even helped label catalogues one day after school... the family that works together, sticks together :)
What's coming this week? I'm having my 2nd 10 Holiday cards workshops on Thursday Oct 23 (1pm and 7pm) and Saturday Oct 25(4pm, 1pm is sold out). I'll be posting sample cards for it beginning later today, so hopefully those help inspire you in your own holiday card making.
Next Tuesday is the "Get Punchy" card class, where we'll be making 5 cards using fun punch art, and then I'll be having an Information Night on Thursday the 30th for anyone who'd like to learn more about the business opportunity and becoming a demonstrator.

Guess what? I had a second card posted this week -- woohooo!
When both Pink Pirouette and Riding Hood Red were released as new In Colors this year, I couldn't wait to pair the two together.
This was a simple 2-step card that came together really quickly in my head, and turned out nicely once I made it. I used the large rhinestone brad from the Pretties kit to add some extra bling to the flower. Throw in a couple of punches to do the detail work and use the Stamp-A-Ma-Jig for lining up the 2 flower images precisely. All in all, easy peasy!
I hope you all have a lovely weekend... I'll still at Toronto's Creativ Festival (booth 286) for the rest of the weekend and can't wait to see more of you there. Yesterday was a real blast and I had such fun catching up with everyone, and meeting some of you blog readers for the first time :) So please come on over and say hi -- I'd love to chat!!

Happy Friday, chickens! Come check out the "Just Jawing" video that's been posted to my SU business website.
It features Shannon from Stampin' Up!, doing a Halloween card and showing a scrapbooking layout and a candy rub-on jar.
Please note, the amount mentioned in the video for the *NEW* Hostess Promotion was the US dollar amount. In Canada, if you host a $460 workshop you can choose one stamp set from the Fall-Winter Sampler for free! Sound like fun? I think so :)
Anyhow, please enjoy the video projects. I'm at the Creativ Festival today so if you're in the Greater Toronto Area, I hope you pop by sometime over the next 3 days!

These can be made out in any denomination you like or even for a class outing if you're in the Toronto area.
Maybe you need to pick up a teacher gift, or something for your Secret Santa recipient?
Maybe it's for the Sister/Mother-in-law who loves home decorating and could get some fabulous Décor Elements from our latest offerings.
Or just MAYBE IT'S FOR YOURSELF!! LOL! Nudge, nudge, wink, wink to the spouse or family member who needs to get you something special.
Of course, another alternative is to use my online Wishlist service -- just fill it out with whatever your heart desires from the catalogue and I'll take care of the rest.
Whatever you need, I am happy to help you with it. And since Stampin' Up! ships everywhere in Canada, you can send it to anyone from PEI all the way to BC.

For all the non-demonstrators out there, Stamper's Showcase is an exclusive feature on the Stampin' Up! demo website. Everyday they post a few cards that demos have submitted to them, either as contest entries or at SU events. After 6.5 years as a demonstrator, I finally got one of my cards posted there -- I feel so... special :)
Anyhow, there's my happy news of the day to share. This week is going to fly as I get everything finished and packed for the Creativ Festival -- hopefully I'll get to see several of you there!

It’s a vast show, with 200,000 square feet of shopping (paper crafts, fabrics, yarns, patterns, papers, jewellery supplies - you name it, you can find it there), learning about new tools and techniques, and the chance to meet creative and crafty industry experts.
I will be at my Stampin' Up! booth (that’s booth #286) all weekend, so please remember to come and introduce yourself… if you remember to say the code words "CRAFTIN CARO" to me, you'll get a free stamp from my basket!
Saturday, October 11, 2008
Here's an "oldie-but-a-goodie" from the Stampin' Up! archives... one of my favourite retired sets, Espress Yourself.
I figured it was kind of relevant with the arrival of my new coffee machine and all the fun we've been having sampling the different flavours!
Yes, those are real coffee beans that were Crystal Effect'd onto the card. Quick but cute, and I really do miss having a dedicated coffee set. Maybe the new Spring/Summer 2009 book will have one? A girl can dream!
In the meantime, I want to wish all my fellow Canadians a happy & safe Thanksgiving long weekend. To help commemorate my thanks to all of you, I'm offering FREE SHIPPING & HANDLING on all orders, until Tuesday October 14 at noon.
So get busy shopping, call or email me with your orders, and then try not to scarf done too much pumpkin pie!
*orders over $100 can ship direct to you; orders under $100 will ship to my Toronto studio for pickup. Sorry, offer valid in Canada only.
