Happy Monday, peeps!
Is it cold enough out there for you? What was it, -28C or some crazy fool thing like that? Aie aie aie! You definitely need to stay in and stay warm by stampin' up a little extra heat on a day like this.
For the month of March, I'll be concentrating most of my card & project samples on different ways to play with the Big Shot. Now, let me be completely up front and honest with everyone here: I have *never* had any kind of die-cutting/embossing machine before my beautiful big black toy came to live with me. You heard me, no Cuttlebug, no Nestabilities, no Wizard or Spellbinders... nothing, nothing, nothing. I was one of those scrampers who didn't seem to quite "get it".
Let's just say... I have SEEN THE LIGHT!
Since I'm running my dual Big Shot specials all this month (the BS Starter kit one & the freebie giveaways), let's get started. For today, we're going to concentrate on the Scallop Envelope Bigz Die.
You can use the Scallop Envelope die to create custom envelopes from any piece of card stock or Designer Series paper. Scallop Envelope die cuts also make adorable memorabilia pockets on scrapbook pages.
Simply cut the image using the die, and then adhere the edges (sides first, and then bottom) with Sticky Strip or Tombow Multi Purpose Adhesive. Add a stamped image or embellishment, and you have the perfect cover for your handmade 2" x 3" cards.
Now, if you check out my cards from February's Sale-A-Bration 10 card camp, you'll see that we actually used this die on a card to hold a yummy piece of chocolate on the front (and who DOESN'T want a card with chocolate!).
Let me also share with you a beautiful birthday card that uses the same concept of an envelope on a card, made by Barbara Joyce of Snoqualmie, WA. She's kindly letting me share her artwork here for all of you, and it even uses MORE Big Shot dies & Texturz on it. Thanks so much, Barbara!
