"Sharing in Your Sorrow" card
I'm busy finishing up our cards for this coming Wednesday's class, where we'll make 5 different ones for all-occasions (click HERE to see a recent post showing the birthday card we'll make).
This card uses 2 of the new In Colors for this year: Pear Pizzazz and Peach Parfait.
As you can tell, today's sample is a sympathy card and let me tell you... it's never fun to have to make one of these when the time comes up, so I try to have a few on hand for those sad occasions.
For this card, I used the "Thoughts & Prayers" set for the main images, and using the new In Color markers to ink up the leaves, stems and flowers.
BTW, if you are interested in learning more about how you can get ALL the Stampin' Up! markers for a great deal, be sure to check out my new Marker Club!
I also created my own background paper layer by rolling the Very Vintage jumbo wheel in Pear Pizzazz ink on Whisper White cardstock.
Using the Pearls as accents along the Peach Parfait border strip, I wanted to add some detail to pick up on the pearlescent shine, so I used the cool new Smooch ink on the flower centres.
One last thing to point out: if you look carefully at the strip, you'll see that I added a subtle something extra to the cardstock by rolling the Texture wheel in the same colour ink over it. Just click on the image below to enlarge and see the detailing.
If you would like to join us on Wednesday, the All-Occasions class times are 1pm and 7pm, and cost $25... which includes all your supplies plus a full pack of Stampin' Up!'s Linen thread for you to keep. Be sure to RSVP to snag a spot :)
