The first of this months Open Stamping Nights projects is the ever popular Dryer Sheet technique, and I just had to pair it with my all-time favourite set of all time, Lovely As a Tree.
I chose the sketch design from Splitcoaststampers' Wednesday Sketch Challenge (SC297).
I used Night of Navy as my base (1), with Whisper White as the trees layer (4).
My strip across was in Bashful Blue (3), and if you take a close look, you'll see the end of it was embossed with a snowflake from the Northern Flurry Textured Impressions Embossing Folder.
As for the patterned paper layer (2), I actually used a 3x4" piece of the Presto Patterns Specialty Designer Series paper and used a sponge dauber to add Night of Navy ink to it.
I rimmed the trees layer with the new Silver Glass glitter for even more sparkle. Add a tiny itty bitty rhinestone jewel to the centre of the snowflake and this easy card is done!
You know, my peeps tease me every May when the retiring stamp list is announced that if this set ever ends up on the chopping block, I'll go completely crazy! I know it's bound to happen one day (lalalala - my fingers are in my ears and I'm not listening - lalalala), but until then I'm just gonna keep loving my trees to bits :)
If you're in Toronto or the GTA and feel like doing some stamping, you're welcome to come out and join us on Wednesday, Thursday or Friday.
Your class is free with a $25 order (plus free S&H!) that night AND you'll also receive my September tutorial by email. Sound good?
