Goodness me, a card from SHELLI!
Okay, to be completely honest it was a card not just from Shelli, but was also signed by Kellene Adams and Lana Joy Limb...but seeing Shelli's signature at the bottom with that cute little heart made me SQUEEEE outloud!
Here is the beautiful card that they sent me as thanks for being the House Lead Demonstrator for the local Ronald McDonald House volunteer group. I've been lead for at least 6 years now, ever since they started the program.
I have to say that it's such a super & fun way to help give back to the community and all by doing something I love to do already: STAMP!
For those of you who have attended any of our Stampin' Palooza events in the past, as you know we also request donations of full cards & envelopes to send to our local Toronto Ronald McDonald House.
It's an easy thing for us stampers to do & help in a small way so please, keep 'em coming! :)
In case you are not familiar with it, Stampin' Up!'s mission statement reads: "To love what we do and share what we love, as we help others enjoy creativity and worthwhile accomplishments . . . in this we make a difference."
So to help fulfill this statement, Stampin' Up! launched its "Making a Difference" program in 2003. Through this, Stampin' Up! has partnered with Ronald McDonald House Charities (RMHC) and each year, they design an exclusive stamp set to promote the partnership .
With a portion of the proceeds from each sale of that set, more than $95,000 USD has already been donated from RMHC stamp set sales alone!
The set for the 2011/12 stamping year can been seen on page 16 of the new catalogue, called "Turtle & Co".
When you purchase this year’s Turtle & Co. Set, they will donate $3 US to RMHC!
I plan on having a "Turtle & Co" stamp class in January when I return from the Leadership conference, so keep your eyes peeled for that date later on this year.
Together, we can make a difference!
